Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark

God looked at the earth and saw that people were acting very bad. It made God sad that the people would not obey him, and He decided to destroy the earth. Noah was a good man and he obeyed God. God decided to save Noah and his family, because they were good.

God told Noah to build an ark. He told Noah to make it with gopher wood and to fill in the cracks with pitch. God wanted the ark to have three stories and have a door and a window. Then he told Noah that he would send a flood over the whole earth to destroy it.

Noah obeyed God and built the ark. It took 120 years for Noah to build it. He warned the people about the flood, but they would not listen to Noah. When the ark was done, God brought two of every animal to Noah. When the animals were on the ark, Noah and his wife and their three sons and their wives went on the ark. Then, God closed the door of the ark.

It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. God made water come from the sky and from the ground to flood the earth. Every animal and person in the world died in the flood. After a year, the water had dried up from the ground. God told Noah to leave the ark and let

the animals go. When Noah walked on the dry ground, he thanked God and built an altar to offer sacrifices to God. God promised Noah that he would never destroy the world with a flood again. God put a rain bow in the sky to remind Noah, and all people, of his promise.

This story teaches us that God can do anything. He made the earth and he can destroy it. Jesus said, "...with God, all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). We also learn that if we obey God, he will save us and help us. Jesus says that only those people who obey God will go to Heaven (Matthew 7:21-23). If Noah did not build the ark, would he have been saved from the flood?
