most sinister forces we can imagine are worse in reality; but they cannot match up to the heavenly forces marshaled against them on our behalf.

Meeting an angel would certainly bring a frightening startle. And it may be that you wish to never have such an experience; but aren’t you glad they are there?

Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of things he possesses.     Luke 12:15

"rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

2 Timothy 2:15 –“Study (be diligent) to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

2 Peter 3:15-16 –“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer (a defense) to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation (conduct) in Christ.”

caused the pain of childbearing for every woman that has given birth since that time; she was evicted from the garden, and brought death into the world. “Oh, if I could turn back the hands of time!” must have been her thought.

God does not force people to do anything; He gives them a command and then allows them to choose to obey it or not. James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” What a comforting thought—that our eternal destiny is in our own hands.

The Great Commission involves the salvation of souls, and also the sanctification of souls through teaching and encouragement! The book of Hebrews is a magnificent example of an inspired Christian encouraging some weak and perhaps new Christians to hold fast to their faith (cf. Heb. 3:12-13). When was the last time you encouraged a new Christian to do the same?
