Old Testament, (continued from page 4) 11, we read the account of David’s adultery committed with Bathsheba. When she sent word to David that she was with child, he tried to “save face” by covering up the sin. Ultimately, in an effort to preserve his reputation, David murdered Uriah. Yet, when the prophet Nathan confronted David with his sin, David was penitent before God, took responsibility for his sin, and repented. Thus, he suffered the consequences for his sin, but died with honor before the Lord. It is out of the desire for the approval of men that many have sinned and rejected God. In John 12:42, though many of the chief rulers of the Jews believed on Jesus, “they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” Paul declared, “for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ” (Gal 1:10). Personal integrity is not measured by what man thinks about us, but by the standard of God’s Word. Paul, in referring to his own reputation among the worldly, said, “...we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day” (1Cor 4:13). As our example (1 Peter 2:21), Jesus was, “...despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not” (Isa 53:3). Consider the integrity of Abraham as declared by God in Genesis 18:19, “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment.” What will God say about you? Who Failed?, (continued from page 7) the great jokes in the history books of the future. Posterity will marvel that so very flimsy and dubious an hypothesis could be accepted with the incredible credulity that it has," Malcolm Muggeridge, Ph.D. "Far from being an established fact of science that it is so typically portrayed to be, Evolution is, in reality, an unreasonable and unfounded hypothesis that is riddled with countless scientific fallacies," Scott M. Huse, Ph.D., Th.D. "Be suspicious of a theory if more and more hypotheses are needed to support as new facts become available, or as new considerations are brought to bear. This interpretation leaves Darwinism in a poor way, for this is exactly what has happened to Darwin's theory over the 120 plus years since it was announced in The Origin Of Species," N. C. Wickramasinghe and Fred Hoyle, Evolution From Space, 1981. “The salient fact is this: if by evolution we mean macroevolution, then it can be said with the utmost rigor that the doctrine is totally bereft of scientific sanction. The fact remains that there exists to this day not a shred of bona fide scientific evidence in support of the thesis that macroevolutionary transformations have ever occurred," J. Wolfgang Smith, Ph.D. "Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We accept it because the only alternative is Creation, and that is unthinkable," Sir Arthur Keith. No, I' m not ashamed. For once, I am not wrong; the test is wrong. We do not have to swallow all of the so-called facts that are supposed to be accepted by "everyone." We did not flunk that test, they did. C.G. |
