The Bible tells us about Peter, who asked Jesus, “Lord, how many times should I forgive my brother who has sinned against me? Seven times?” Jesus said, “Not seven times, but seventy times seven.” Jesus then told a parable to teach His disciples about forgiveness: The kingdom of heaven is like a king who had a servant that owed him a lot of money. The servant could not pay his master, so the king ordered him and his family to be sold to pay the money. The servant was very sorry and begged the king saying, “Have patience with me. I will pay it all to you.” Then the king felt sorry for the servant and forgave him his debt. But the same servant went out and found his fellow servant who owed just a little bit of money to him. He took the other servant by the throat and said, “Pay me what you owe.” His fellow servant begged him, “Have patience with me. I will pay it all to you.” But the servant did not forgive him and he threw his fellow servant in prison. When the other servants in the king’s house heard about it, they told the king what happened. The king called for the servant and told him, “I forgave you for |
your debt because you begged me. You should have also felt sorry for your fellow servant and forgiven him.” The king was angry with his servant and threw him in jail until he paid his debt. Cross Word Puzzle Across: Down:
