For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth...Eph 5:9

Universe, (continued from page 7)

The Parade article continues with an explanation of these four "simple conditions" of life. If ice did not float, there would be no more ponds, lakes or other bodies of water. If particles called protons and electrons did not have identical charges, then a "force other than gravity would have determined the structure of the Universe." Our Sun is just the right size for the Earth. "If it were larger it would burn its fuel more quickly...it would have burnt itself in a cosmic flash in the pan."

These views, revealed by scientists who do not believe in God, make the very argument theists have made for years: The Cosmological Argument states, "for every effect there must be a sufficient cause." The Teleological (or Design) Argument states, "evidence of design indicates the existence of a designer." Whether man admits it or not, God designed and created the Earth for man's habitation. Praise Jehovah for His love and concern for man, His crowning act of creation.

We Are Accountable To Jesus Our King

When a man serves as President, he is ultimately accountable to the people who put him there. Any president who does not please the people may either be impeached or voted out in the next term. Indeed, many have applied this method to their spiritual lives, much to their own detriment. When in times of trouble and desperation, they empower Jesus, coming to Him in prayer and pleading for help. Then, when it is convenient, they dethrone Him from their lives so as not to feel compelled to obey His Word.

Jesus said, in John 12:48, "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." All people will be held accountable to the king (Rom 14:12; Acts 17:31). We cannot choose what commands are most convenient or at what time it pleases us most to obey Him. "Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants" (Matthew 18:23).

Indigenous..., (continued from page 6)

better off without a preacher for they will be much more aware of their responsibilities in church leadership and evangelism if they are directly involved themselves.

I am not suggesting other approaches to mission work are sinful. I am saying that using too much American money is unwise and presents many problems. The basic truth that people appreciate more what they provide for themselves must never be forgotten. We cannot solve all the problems on the mission field with more American money. We have not solved the problems of the world with massive American foreign aid. It has not even brought respect for America. We need to build works that are stable and self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating. The indigenous approach is the best means to that end.

Old Testament, (continued from page 4)

We will do unto others as we wish them to do unto us (Matt. 7:12), or we will do unto others before they have a chance to do unto us?

Since the home is the place where it all begins, we need homes which are organized according to God's instructions (Eph. 6:1-4; Col. 3:20), and unless the home is "as God would have it," it really is incomplete and unprepared to function properly. It is time to move our homes out of the "disabled" area and make them instruments through which God can work. Let's face it, a disabled home cannot function properly. Isn't it past time for all of us to take a long, analytical look at our homes and make some corrections? Is it possible to "take back our homes" from Satan and reorganize them like God would have them? Isn't it true that what happens in our homes determines to a large extent what happens in our community, our nation, our world? Think about it!
