A Word of EncouragementWhat have I to fear as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ? Paul gives the inspiring answer in these wonderful verses!
Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NKJV)
Fear is the very opposite of faith, and it can undermine my faith! So it is vital that I not live in fear! These verses assure me that nothing in all of the whole creation that Satan might try to use to frighten me will be able to separate me from the love of God for me in Jesus Christ my Lord! Praise the Lord! Today, then, I will continue to serve Him faithfully with joy and the certain expectation of going to heaven when I die! And whenever I feel some fear creeping into my thoughts, I will remember these triumphant verses to chase it away! |

A Word of EncouragementMany things happen to me in life that I just don’t understand! In this verse I am given the assurance I need in this regard!
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (NKJV)
So even though I can’t understand why things happen as they do, I am promised that ultimately God works for good with it all for those who love Him with all of their heart, mind and soul; and who are given to seeing His purposes fulfilled in everything! So I will keep on enduring the trials and tribulations of my life loving the Lord and trusting in His purposes, and looking forward to the heavenly reward He has promised; when I will see how it all was for the good as promised! Praise the Lord! |

These are the qualities that we continually strive for at the Vacaville church of Christ as we worship and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a new church home, we would like you to prayerfully consider the Vacaville church of Christ. We are not a denomination or a man made institution, but we are simply Christians following the New Testament as our guide for life and godliness. Jesus said in John 4:23, "...the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth." As you worship with us, you will find that we do so according to the New Testament to include: Singing (Eph 5:19), Praying (1 Tim 2:1-2), Observing the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7), Giving (1 Cor 16:1-2), and Preaching (Acts 2:42). Jesus also said in John 13:35, "By This shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." No doubt you will find that the Vacaville church of Christ is a very loving and caring group of people.
